We are hiring for the seat closest to the founder.
The work, in plain terms: calendars, retreats, vendors, decks, drafts that leave under his name, the small empire of details that lets a founder think. You will use modern tools — including AI ones — without being told which one to reach for. The person who is right for this seat already knows.
Harder to describe is the room. ALCHMI sits at a meeting point of four worlds that rarely share an office: strategy consulting, education, Indian Knowledge Systems, and the contemplative traditions. A week here might begin with a US client brief and end with a Sanskrit manuscript, with a leadership retreat somewhere between. You will not need to be expert in any of them. You will need to be at home in all of them.
We can teach craft. We cannot teach the things that decide whether someone belongs in this seat — judgement, taste, the analytical instinct, an ear for language, the discipline to finish what you start. Some readers will recognise themselves in that sentence. Most will not. The post is written for the few who do.
Filters to keep in mind: being rooted in Indian culture, behaviors aligned with Indian cultural norms not western, affinity and comfort with Sanskrit, Indian Knowledge Systems and Traditions, Knowledge of Indian cultural traditions and customs.
The first three months are a paid trial, honest on both sides. After that, the ceiling is wherever you take it. Compensation is fair and grows with you. The office is in Subramanyapura, Bengaluru, and the role is in person.
Ideal candidate:
- fresh graduate or 1-2 years of experience
- talent, enthusiasm, creativity, problem-solving skills dominate over experience
- is adept at problem solving based on first principles
- spiritually oriented and has daily spiritual practices
- engaged in inner work through some kind of sadhana
- self-aware and actively working on making oneself better
- has a certain level of comfort with Sanskrit even if cannot speak
- key motivation for applying for this role is to (1) learn from an experienced leader who is merging typically disparate disciplines like business, spirituality, science, technology and dharma (2) inner growth by being in an environment which ensures personal spiritual growth and professional growth at the same time (3) contribute to nation building and civilizational revival
Make sure you check all the boxes (or most of them) before applying. People who are mainly interested in (only interested in) material pursuits will not qualify for this role.
